Introduction and purpose of Trauma Link

Trauma Link has been created to spread and share - in a systematic continuative manner - scientific and technical knowledge on severe trauma care.

The site is addressed mainly to those, that from many points of views and at different moments, take part in the rescue and care of traumatized patients, in order to create a professional network.

Aims

  • create an area where up-to-date information and knowledge can be collected, organized and shared, according to the daily use performed by staff working in emergency departments;
  • support the link in order that those involved in the trauma patient care can have a common identity and professional principles, using the same language and codes;
  • promote specific knowledge and culture of trauma management based on innovation and research.

Sections

The SIAT section contains information on the integrated systems of trauma care in use in Emilia Romagna.

The Trauma Registry section contains a database and documents on the registration of severe trauma patients in Emilia-Romagna.

The Literature section allows consultation of the site's bibliography database. In this section one can find selected articles and a wide range of guidelines issued by important scientific societies.

The last section, Training, is dedicated to promote courses, meetings and conventions that are organized especially for staff working in emergency departments.

Who is the site addressed to

Firstly the contents of the site are addressed mainly to health care workers interested in trauma care and management:

  • health care staff working in the Emilia-Romagna regional healthcare system;
  • managing board, responsible for the political and economic management of the public health system;
  • management experts that are responsible for carrying out programs related to health care aims set by the management board;
  • research staff from both public and private organizations, dealing with study, investigation and analysis of clinical data.

Secondly, the contents of the site can be used by all those volunteer health associations involved in rescue and first aid activities, civilians such as journalists or school teachers (from primary schooling to university) that are promoters, on a large scale, of health care education.
